The singer and West End star performed ‘One Day I’ll Fly Away’, her first solo single and the lead cut from her upcoming solo album Centre Stage. It was pretty divisive, with fans trending #ProudOfKimberley on Twitter but others remaining critical of her wobbly tuning – probably attributable to sheer nerves. Still, with her warm and down-to-Earth personality winning over millions on Strictly Come Dancing, we’re inclined to join in the applause at the end! The star looked nervous as she sang accompanied by a full orchestra in front of fellow music stars and industry bigwigs. She’s not the only Girls Aloud star to come under close scrutiny for her live vocals, after Cheryl Cole was slammed by viewers for her rather off-key duet with Gary Barlow at the Jubilee concert last year. Kimba’s album Centre Stage is out on February 4.
